Tunga penetrans. H&E stained section of Tungiasis in a toe in a man from Madagascar. This human chigoe or jigger flea invades the human epidermis producing nodular swellings that are painful and eventually ulcerate. This section shows part of a female Tunga's ovary, trachae and gut.
